Crozer-Keystone, nurses agree to new four-year contract

Nurses at Crozer-Chester Medical Center voted 287-39 to ratify a contract Monday that raises salaries, modifies the pay scale, freezes the traditional pension plan and adds new nursing positions to critical care. The four-year contract comes after 14 months of bargaining between negotiators for the Crozer-Keystone Health System and the union representing 550 nurses at the Upland facility.

The approximately 450 graduate and registered nurses, who are members of the Wyoming Valley Nurses Association local of Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals (PASNAP), walked the picket line for five days, beginning on Friday. They had been working under the terms of a two-year contract that expired in April 2013.
